| www.dogpeople.co.uk Dog People Says – Rose Cottage, Goathland Tia a Labrador (and best friend of our old mate Hamish) stayed at Rose Cottage for 3 nights in September 2011 with her mistress and one of the directors. We received a friendly welcome from Emma the owner and were helped in with our luggage. Our bedrooms on the first floor accessed by a short flight of steep but carpeted stairs were clean and comfortable and the double bedroom had enough space for Tia’s bed to be laid out. We enjoyed a selection of very good breakfasts during our stay which were freshly cooked to order, the scrambled eggs were particularly good. Tia was not left out as she was welcome to come to breakfast with us and served her own sausage each morning. She also enjoyed meeting another dog guest Monty a 9 month old West Highland Terrier who was also staying with his people. Emma welcomes guests into her home and clearly extends this to the dog guests as well. Rose Cottage is in a great location in Goathland. There are numerous options for short and long walks straight from the door and there are 3 dog friendly inns within 5 to 10 minutes walk where we enjoyed bar meals or drinks accompanied by Tia. Other attractions include the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and various locations from the popular TV series‘Heartbeat’. Rose Cottage is ideal for a relaxing country break with your dog(s) or as a base to explore North Yorkshire. Copyright Dogpeople Ltd 2011 |
